Many people enjoy the variety of programming available with cable television however do not like the high prices that continue to skyrocket every few months. This dilemma has led people to pursue other avenues to find their entertainment needs.

One other avenue customers have discovered that satellite providers offer many of the same programming choices as many cable providers at a much lower rate.

Each type of provider has its own benefits and disadvantages. For example although cable costs more in most places it rarely is affected by minor bad weather whereas some satellite systems have been known to go out routinely during only slight storms.

Another drawback with satellite providers is the expensive equipment that satellite providers require you to rent or purchase to receive their services.

With cable television there is never a requirement to purchase equipment to receive their services.

However with cable television it is often required to purchase several separate packages to receive your favorite channels whereas with satellite there are many packages available often as a customizable option to receive the channels you like.

All in all it is in individual personal preference as to which of these providers are actually the best depending on your point of view.
